Scheduled Maintenance

Like your car and your A/C system, you computers need regular maintenance otherwise their performance will degrade, they will crash or freeze more often, and they will become less reliable.

Isn't it annoying that the brand new PCs you bought a few months ago are already starting to seem slower, that they need rebooting more often and crash at the worst moments?

But there is an alternative. Our customers who have scheduled maintenance have almost zero down time and their PCs continue to perform as well as they did when new.

Why? Because as you use your computer several bad things happen. First, the programs that you put into your computer have bugs, they don't always work correctly. Next, files get fragmented (this means that instead of being stored in one continuous stretch on your disk, files that get opened and closed, end up in many pieces making your computer work harder to get all of the pieces into memory for use). The registry, a critical part of Windows is a repository for information about how programs and parts of yor computer interact. Over time the registry ends up collecting a huge amount of stale information which may no longer be correct, and can misdirect your PC. Then when you use the web, many sites - including legitimate ones - leave little trails on your disk so that they can track your web usage. Some websites do more, and worse, than that. Lastly, viruses, worms, Trojans and the like can really make a mess of your PC.

So what's the answer? Scheduled maintenance! On a regular basis, about once a month, we run a set of procedures that clean out the mistakes, update the critical programs, reorganize your files into single extents, and remove the droppings that web and internet use accumulate. By doing this, before it gets too bad and the PC has too many things wrong with it, performance and reliability can be restored.

Gulfstream Technologies will come to your office and perform regular maintenance, after hours if need be, so that your business day won't be interrupted.
